Winning German Civil War for Noobs (self.hoi4) submitted 5 months ago. by Kumqwatwhat. So I consider myself an average player at best (I play normal, I can beat Germany as France but then lost massive ground in that same game to Poland, so.), and wanted to try out the alternate history Germany.
When I reached Munich most of them were gone and a few small tiles later I won. It is mainly preparing for the war as if Von Mackensen was preparing this entire time. I never found myself losing. I just found the war longish and tedious. Less than 1 Mill Germans died as well (should that be a problem for some.)You can always train troops but never deploy. Wait and then BAM.
Also early Cav, Motorised or Tanks are extremely useful, you can nab some quick territory. That might be the advantage some need! It is challenging, I will admit that.

The Nazis put up a better fight making it harder to take territory but the end result was better.
I stormed Munich and Berlin early on so I just needed to take parts here and there. I kept cavalry ready to deploy and this let me take many territories. It is all about taking land early on without losing any major land. While a large amount, compared to what it could be, 250-300k German Lives were lost.

Good idea to early rush cav, still make sure you have other infantry to use/deploy.
