  1. How To Set Timer On Morphy Richards Slow Cooker

I wanted 3 things in a slow cooker: to be able to use the same pot from stovetop to slow cooker, to be very simple to use, and to have a glass lid to see how meal is going inside without lifting lid off and heat escaping. This delivers on all 3 things and also looks great in the kitchen. Simple controls just for high, medium and low only so you need to just work out the time you want to cook for. The instruction books enclosed helps with this and also has a range of recipes to get you started. The best thing is the non-stick stovetop safe cooking pot which lifts out and pops back in once you have browned everything. Just be careful only to use silicone or wood spoons, as the teflon layer seems quite thin and it looks like it scratches easily.

Also you'll need to cook a fair bit to fill it, like at least a couple kilos meat. Which is good if you want to feed around 6 people or for leftovers for freezing. If you want fewer serves from your slow cooker, you might be better with the smaller 3.5L one.

This slow cooker is perfect for feeding the masses, it's 6.5ltr capacity means it's big enough for a huge family roast as well as cooking meals to freeze. The results of my cooking have been off the chart, cooked to perfection.Enough though this is a beast of a product doesn't mean it won't fit into the dishwasher because it does and washes up very well. The digital features are easy to understand and apply for the best cook you will ever have, turn it on and go shopping, the cooker will do the rest.

Have cooked a couple of meals in this but as others have noted, you don't know what heat it is cooking at - high or low? No clues in the instruction booklet. What really annoys me is that the instructions say you have to have ALL THE INGREDIENTS COVERED WITH WATER. So you're stuck with watery stews unless you want to scoop all the liquid out at the end and spend half an hour reducing it on the stove top. Otherwise all that goodness in the cooking liquid is just wasted.Has anyone else cooked in one of these without covering the food with liquid? Was the food properly cooked?

I'm worried about getting food poisoning. Rang the company but couldn't get a satisfactory answer.Have to cover all ingredients with liquid. I am going to buy a different brand of digital slow cooker with my refunded money tomorrow. Very disappointed with this product the older style slow cookers would even be better than this.In my opinion there are no pros, I returned my slow cooker to Clive Anthony's today and got a refund. No High and low temp. You aren't able to switch the cooker to keep warm yourself if the meal is cooked earlier you have to wait until the timer finishes there is no option but to turn the cooker off completely. You cannot set the timer to less than 4hrs this is annoying if you realise the meal is cooked and you only want it to cook for say another half hour or if you want to timer to finish so it switches to keep warm. As I go to work at 6.15 each morning being able to prepare the night before and come home at night to a cooked meal (especially stews in winter) is fantastic.

I like the Keep Warm function but would prefer to also be able to programme it to turn on - like the bread makers do. I would prefer to have it start early afternoon and I now depend on my husband (if he is home) to turn it on.

I will try turning it on in the mornings but don't really fancy it being on all day even if it is just keeping it warm. Surely a company can easily bring one out that does that - after all your radio comes on every morning. I have tried a timer on the power switch but that doesn't work as you have to push the Cook button to start itBeing able to programme it to cook a certain timeNot being able to program it to turn on. Hng dn s dng gerber accumark free. Also the fact that there is no High and Low or you can;t go below 4 hours for cooking. Beacuse of that I don't cook my meat forst as a lot of recipes say to do. I chose well!

Real fuss-free cooking. Performance so far is reliable. Meals using maker's recipes are delicious, flavours seem more intense. Easy to assemble and clean.

The 6.5L capacityis perfect for a couple who want a healthy meal plus extra to freeze for office lunches or later family gatherings, and who want to avoid the temptation of convenient take-aways. Minimum time in the kitchen is a real bonus.Newcomer to slow cookers, purchased this as my first one one partly because arthritic hands like the digital function rather than difficult switches on other models. I like its independence of operation - nothing to do: set it, forget it!Lack of authors writing recipe books for this digital, 'no high or low setting' approach to slow cooking.

Perhaps Morphy Richards could contract a couple of digital-type cookbooks to supplement their user guide recipes and reward us for our choice of their product? Guesswork is needed for using 'high/low' recipes that dominate the market, but it's probably only a matter of practice. This should not be called a slow cooker.Upon ringing the company to ask if it cooked on high or low I was told'medium'.As all the recipe books talk about high and low we are very disapointed. We have since told the lady at David Jones she should advise people about this.Anyway its safely tucked away in the cupboard and our 30 year old crockpot, complete with high and low settings is back on the bench.Looks GoodNo high or low setting. No indication in the instruction book as to what it was cooking at. When i bought mine a rep from morphy richards was there i asked him how can we put it on low or high heat if it doesnt actually say it on the display, he told me if i put the timer on the maximum 12 hours it would be on low heat but if i was to put it on for 4 hours it would be on high. I took it home and havnt regretted my purchase ever since. I make all sorts of meals and being a 6.5lt capacity i freeze most for later dinners and lunches being only myself and my partner.

And the best thing is that morphy richards appliances have 2 yr warranty.love it.a bit big especially if you have limited bench space. I have only used it twice so far, but I am really happy with it. The timer function is a great plus - very handy as you can leave it to do its thing, as well as it then switching to 'keep warm' when it is finished. I was a bit concerned that there wasn't a 'low' settings function especially given so many people complained other brands overcooked meals even on low settings. So far however I have to say it doesnt appear to get hot at all and it appears to cook at a very low temperature which is perfect for slow cooking. Great appearance, great large size and easy to clean.

How To Set Timer On Morphy Richards Slow Cooker

In the ideal world a slow cooker that had a low-med-high option as well as a timer and a keep warm function would be the one to purchase, however I was unable to find one that had all of these. In the meantime this one is working well for me.Very easy to use. The count down timer is great, as is the keep warm function. Great size, great design, doesnt appear to overheat. No manual low-med-high-keep warm settings. Very easy to use. The foods come out tasty and cooked well.

Makes a great rice pudding for my ever hungry 11 year old son. Would probably buy this one again.Tis easy to use. The timer function is fantastic.

Easy to Clean. Good capacity for feeding family of four. Has keep warm function for when timer is complete. The timer has minimum of 4 hours, which is a bummer when doing vegetarian stuff, cos it doesn't take as long as meat. No high or low settings, just goes to keep warm after timer is finished. I love my new slow cooker!

I hadnt had a lot of experience with them previously but am now putting everything in it. Everthing i have done has come out beautifully including the 1.5kg lamb roast i did last night - best roast i have had in a long time!Timer - I work about an hours drive from home and am away 12hr+ a day so the time function is a must. Very easy to use too.Size: The bowl is huge and you can get anything in it.There is no high low function which most recipes ask for, but i have worked out just to go in the middle somewhere and it is great. I am sorry I don't know. I have only used mine once I was so disappointed that it had only 1 setting and that is too hot. It is not a slow cooker.

Hi LisaThe replacement glass lid for the 48730 model slow cooker is available in very limited numbers from our head office. Please call our team on 1300 556 816 and quote part number: 48715002 for more information. Hi LisaI'm sorry for the late reply, if you are still looking at purchasing a new lid may I suggest a alternative?Try dropping the cooker itself!

Hopefully it will also shatter. Then look at different brands and get a decent cooker that doesn't over cook your delicious stews etc. I did exactly this and it was a great decision, I didn't exactly drop it but none the less.ThanksAll the bestKurt.
